OO9 is the ultimate space-saver amongst the mainstream ready to-run scales. It is rendered at the 176 scale of standard OO (4mm/ foot), but runs on 9mm gauge track, reflecting a ‘real life’ gauge of approximately 2 feet 3 inches. Due to its compact size and gauge, it is possible to create complex layouts in limited spaces, which are perfectly plausible based on where narrow gauge railways were used in reality; mines and quarries, coastal areas and mountains, military installations and rural byways.
