The Bachmann name can be traced back to 1833, but it was 1989 when the first Bachmann models were conceived at the then-newly established Bachmann Europe headquarters in Leicestershire, England, signalling a new era for the British modeller. Things have come a long way since those early days and Bachmann has been at the forefront of industry-wide advancements, from the adoption of new standards like the NEM coupling pocket and chemically-blackened wheels, to the introduction of new features like DCC sound and our ground-breaking Auto-Release Coupling System. Our model railway ranges are always expanding, with new models depicting subjects and prototypes that have not previously been manufactured, alongside new versions of popular types that have been modelled before, but to new standards and higher fidelity and with the latest technology packed in.
The product portfolio has since expanded from its initial model railway ranges to now include plastic kits, model scenery, and diecast collectables.
