STINGRAY was first transmitted on October 4th 1964 and ran through two seasons totalling 39 episodes. It was the first Gerry Anderson Supermarionation production to be filmed in colour, primarily to attract the lucrative American TV networks, and cost an estimated one million pounds to produce.
