US Army T57 Experimental Heavy Tank.
The T57 was part of a U.S. Army project to develop a more mobile and heavily armed heavy tank. However, problems with the autoloader mechanism, the complexity of the oscillating turret, and advancements in tank design philosophy led to the project's cancellation in the late 1950s. The U.S. military ultimately favoured main battle tanks (MBTs) over specialized heavy tanks, leading to the standardization of the M60 and later the M1 Abrams.
Although never produced beyond prototype stages, the T57 remains an interesting "what-if" in armoured warfare history, gaining popularity in games like World of Tanks as a fictionalised version of what it might have been in service.
Hatches can be fitted open or closed. Moveable suspension and road wheels. Clear parts, metal towing hawser & metal barrel included. Workable tracks with assembly jig. Choice of 2 markings.
