Held in Sumatra, Indonesia, the Camel Trophy 1981 was a 1,600 km jungle expedition that introduced the iconic Range Rover V8 to the event. Five West German teams battled mud, rivers, mountains and tropical heat on a route crossing the equator from Medan to Jambi. All five teams completed the challenge.
