US Air Force E-3 Sentry AWAC Early Warning Aircraft.
The first Boeing E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft, developed by Boeing from the Boeing 707 airliner, was delivered in March 1977. The American AWACS early warning and control aircraft provides all-weather surveillance, command, control, and communications and is used by the US Air Force, NATO, the French Air and Space Forces, the Royal Saudi Arabian Air Force, and the Chilean Air Force. The E-3 has a distinctive rotating radar dome (rotodome) above the fuselage. Production ceased in 1992 after 68 aircraft were built.
