US Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer named in honour of Navy SEAL Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in June 2005. USS Michael Murphy remains in active service with the Pacific Fleet and was awarded the 2024 Arleigh Burke Fleet Trophy, recognising excellence among destroyers. The ship has participated in deployments across the Pacific, Indian Ocean, Middle East, and 5th/7th Fleet areas of operation.
