The M4A1(76)W HVSS was a late-war variant of the U.S. Sherman medium tank, combining several key upgrades to improve firepower, survivability, and mobility.
• M4A1: Cast hull design, giving it a rounded appearance.
• 76mm gun: Replaced the earlier 75mm, offering better anti-tank performance.
• "W": Denotes wet stowage of ammunition, reducing fire risk from hits.
• HVSS (Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension): A wider-track suspension system that improved ride quality and allowed better weight distribution, increasing cross-country performance.

Entering service in late 1944, this variant saw action in Europe and continued to serve in various forms well into the post-war era with allied and NATO-aligned forces.
