During the 1970s, a growing need for nuclear waste disposal vehicles led BR to construct a number of specialist wagons for this very purpose. Early designs were open framed and lasted until a new, more robust design in the 1980s appeared, which is the subject matter for this delightful Graham Farish wagon.
Sporting various separately fitted parts such as the guard rails and handbrake wheels, this highly detailed model has been painted in prototypically accurate colours and adorned with a myriad of warning labels – all except for the smallest of which are legible thanks to our high-quality printing processes. This particular wagon is finished in the typical ‘buff’ of originally built examples, complete with white nuclear flask.
