Bachmann to Formalise Charging of Service Work

Bachmann Europe Plc., is with an immediate effect introducing a Service Charge for models received in their Service Dept that are either out of warranty or are supplied without good supporting evidence proving the validity of warranty.

The charges being applied are:

Warranty for N through to O is 6 months, and 12 months on G scale from date of purchase.

Bachmann would like to urge and encourage retailers and end customers to ensure that all Warranty paperwork, where available, is fully completed, and supported by a bona-fide receipt, and where a warranty form is not available that the customer has a bona-fide sales receipt as proof of purchase. Ensuring that end users have good documented evidence will remove any unpleasantness and ill will. Failure to provide such evidence may incur unnecessary costs to owners of models.

Graham Hubbard Managing Director of Bachmann stated "We have offered an in-house service facility since the company was founded, with charges levied on an ad-hoc basis. To simplify the whole charging mechanism, we have decided to come in line with other industry service providers, and hopefully this will speed up the time taken to undertake repairs. Modellers can be certain that our commitment to offering an extensive repair facility for both warranty and non- warranty repairs remains as strong as ever".

Initial enquiries often solve problems encountered, thus removing the need to return the model, and saving the Service Charge.
