Graham Farish today (11 September) announced a new N scale LNER B1 Class 4-6-0 locomotive at the International N Scale show held near Leamington Spa.
The locomotive has been developed over the last two years by Bachmann Europe and builds on the success of the recently introduced Blue Riband locomotives. The B1 includes the successful Farish tender drive unit and has a 6 PIN DCC decoder socket.
The B1 includes an all new body design with options for welded or flush riveted smoke box detail as well as variations including door radius, step and lamp brackets. The tender and locomotive are fitted with separate handrail details and has a fully detailed cab interior including seats for both driver and fireman with hinged drop plate between locomotive and tender. Other details include steam generator, AWS battery box and air cylinders. The tender has original or revised coal compartments and a reversible coal load.
The locomotive has see through spoked driving and bogie wheels with alternative scale bogie wheels for display use only. The detailing pack supplied with each model includes a dummy screw link coupling, cylinder drain pipes, front footplate steps, vacuum pipes and spare tender wheels with and without traction tyres. Etched nameplates are included where appropriate.

Four models have been announced 372-075 ‘Springbok’ in LNER Green, 372-076 in BR black with early emblem, 372-077 ‘Oliver Bury’ in BR black with late crest and 372-078 in BR black with late crest and weathering.
Each locomotive has a recommended retail price of £104.95. Delivery is expected in 6-8 weeks.
