Developments of our N scale Class 40s

In September 2016 we presented engineering prototypes of the Graham Farish Class 40's, and several months on we have some developments that we would like to share with you. Along with adding another locomotive to the trio of English Electric Type 4s we announced last year, we have also developed the previous tooling and fine-tuned the details.

N Scale Auto Trailers Arrive

Three recent arrivals at Bachmann are our BR Auto Trailers in N scale. Our models are based on the last batch built by British Railways at Swindon between 1950 and 1954 to the design of F.W. Hawksworth, the last Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Great Western Railway.

OO Stanier Moguls Steam into Bachmann

A much-welcomed recent arrival to our Bachmann office is our three OO scale Class 5 Stanier Moguls 2-6-0. The trio of steam locomotives come in a wide variety of liveries including BR black late crest, BR black early emblem and LMS Lined Black. First introduced in 1933 these mix traffic locomotives worked until December 1966, lasting over thirty years.

Branchline Class 450 Livery Samples Are In

We are excited to reveal images of our OO scale Class 450 models in South West Trains livery. These four car electric multiple units began service during 2003 and are often referred to as the 'Blue Desiro'. 31-040 and 31-041 both resemble these Siemens built commuter trains, with the latter being a weathered version of the livery.

A Tribute to Merl Evans 1947 - 2016

In 2016, our former Head of Research and Development, Merl Evans, sadly passed away. Merl who retired from Bachmann in Summer 2014, was instrumental in the development of the company's large portfolio of OO scale locomotives and rolling stock for over 20 years and was an eloquent ambassador not only for Bachmann, but the entire model railway industry.
